I would have posted something here at Carrie (Like the Movie) earlier in the day, but I’ve been having waaaay too much fun surfing around and reliving my youth at MTV Music – I Want My MTV.
The site is filled with about 80% of all the music videos that MTV has ever aired, in gorgeous high quality video and I just can’t get enough of it. I’m sad that they can’t be embedded, but if you miss Gerardo’s “Rico Suave” as much as I do, you can view Gerardo, his tight jeans and his hair extensions HERE.
However, in searching the site for the video I really wanted to feature today (inspired by CurlyWurlyGurly and her great post about songs you never get tired of) MTV Music failed me, so direct from YouTube, here is one of my favorite songs that always seems to put me in a good mood whenever I hear it (OMG – is this song really 22 years old? Call me Grandma, I stil love it!) I dare you not to feel better after watching this video…enjoy, peeps!

jimsmuse sez: I was amazed to discover after watching the video before posting that I STILL know all the words! I read a great post by Turkish Prawn recently about the “superpowers” possessed by those around him. Before there was the Internet, I was the one that friends would call at 2am and say “It’s driving me crazy — how does that song go again?” I now realize that while the superpower I would most like to have is invisibility (is it obvious I have “body image” issues?), the one I actually possess is the ability to remember song lyrics. I do not know how this power could be used to save the world, but I’m working on it.
